Qigong and Tai Chi Chuan Workshop

Qigong (pronounced Chi Kung) is the art of developing energy. In Chinese, the energy or life force is called Qi, pronounced and many times written Chi in the West. Chi is the energy that allows us to walk, talk, work, have fun, philosophise and visualise, and for the majority of all activities necessary for life.

Lohan Qigong is an internal therapeutic exercise which uses the control of movement, control of respiration, and control of the emotions to manipulate the flow of Chi (life force) along the meridians of the body. It is a physical as well as a mental exercise to develop health and vitality, a focused mind in balance and peace.

Tai Chi Chuan is a martial art of Chinese origin, known for its sequences of gentle and slow movements which search for the union of consciousness and movement of the body; flexibility, circularity continuity, gentleness and firmness. Tai Chi Chuan has become popular because of its benefits for health that are attributed to its practice and for the fact that it is a discipline that a large portion of the population can access, and where physical condition or age do not matter.

In the workshop, you will be taught basic exercises of Lohan Quigong and Tai Chi Chuan and will learn every movement putting emphasis on the correct execution and coordination with the breath.

Lohan Qigong
1- Basic concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine
2- Types of respiration
3- Methods of respiration
4- Learning the breathing exercises for the Tan Tien
5- Learning the breathing exercises for the “doors”
6- Learning the breathing exercises for Sam Jiao
7- Learning the walks for the internal organs
8- Learning the basic exercises for meditation
9- Learning the exercises for self massage
10- Introduction to the “18 Hands of Lohan”

Tai Chi Chuan
1- Learning the foundations of Tai Chi Chuan practice
2- Learning the fundamental exercises of Chan Si Gong (Weaving
of the silk ball)
3- Introduction to the form of 9 movements of Tai Chi Chuan Chen
style
The workshop will be taught by Sifu John La Touche, certified as an International Master by the International Association of Kung Fu Choy Lee Fut of the Chan Family 5th Generation with its seat in Sidney, Australia. 
Sifu John La Touche has more than 35 years of practice and teaching of Kung Fu, Qigong and Tai Chi Chuan.
